Thanks for checking out WeCanResist.It. Think of us as America's toxic ideology swear jar. We have one core goal right now: to use Trump's hateful tweets and attacks on human rights as a motivator to raise recurring monthly donations for nonprofits and social justice movements. Your support means that we will meet every online attack with #resistance.
Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway said, "He's just getting started." But we're stronger together in fighting against racism, Islamophobia, censorship, homophobia, and transphobia. United we will fight for environmental justice. We will stand up for immigrants' rights, for reproductive justice, and more.
Nonprofits you choose to donate to via WeCanResist. It will receive the financial and moral support to continue their most critical work.

Millions of people across the world marched for women and human rights on January 21, 2017 and asked, "What can we do next?" One way is to help sustain the social justice organizations who need funding to fight Trump's harmful policies. That's our immediate goal at WeCanResist.It.
This is, at its core, a fight for human rights and our planet.
We are a group of concerned citizens who come from the nonprofit organizing and tech community. Our team ranges from developers and digital strategists, including Allyson Kapin, Jared Seltzer, Kristin Johnson, and Art Hanson, who have been working in the nonprofit tech community for 15+ years. We are appalled by the cruelty that Donald Trump and Mike Pence have demonstrated since becoming President and Vice President of the United States. We are deeply concerned about the Administration's attacks on people's most basic human rights.
We came up with the idea for WeCanResist. It as a way to channel people's anger into continuing support for social justice organizations and movements who need it now more than ever. We know that one-time donations can be helpful, but recurring donations (no matter how small) are what these nonprofits need to thrive in these dark times. With words, with actions, with dollars, we will stand up, we will fight back.
Donald Trump used Twitter to mobilize massive support for his Presidential campaign filled with hateful and racist propaganda. He continues to use Twitter on a daily basis to support an agenda to eat away at laws that provide basic rights.
"The fact that I have such power in terms of numbers with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.," Trump said on 60 Minutes, "I think it helped me win all of these races where they're spending much more money than I spent."
WeCanResist. It is self-funded, meaning we invested our own money and resources to create this web application. We believe that marches and protests are important. Phone calls, letters, and meetings with your Congressional Members are critical. Strategizing for mid-term elections is vitally important.
Equally critical is funding social justice nonprofits who are under attack. The nonprofits we chose to feature on the app are on the front lines, launching legal and advocacy battles against racist, Islamophobic, homophobic, transphobic, anti-choice, and anti-environmental legislation. We need these organizations now more than ever. They cannot do this without each and every one of us chipping in a few bucks to support them.
Our goal is to keep things simple. To pay for website hosting and run the web application, we take a 2% processing fee for each donation made on or through the site. WePay, the third party that processes the donations, takes a 2.4% + $0.30 processing fee (3.2% + $0.30 for American Express) for each donation. Donors cover all fees so that 100% of donations go directly to the nonprofit.
Currently, we’re limiting the web app to a limited amount of nonprofits who we have personally vetted. If you’re a U.S. based nonprofit charity who is interested in becoming a partner, please drop us a note here and we will let you know when we can add more nonprofits.
We feature social justice nonprofits whose mission is to fight against racism, Islamophobia, censorship, homophobia, and transphobia. We also feature nonprofits fighting for environmental and reproductive justice. Our goal is to keep the list small and highly curated for donors so they can easily support the organizations that need the most support right now.
